Maximizing Social Security Benefits Web Series

Welcome to the Sacks & Associates video series on maximizing Social Security benefits. In this four-part series Lloyd A. Sacks CFP®, NSSA®, Managing Director of Sacks and Associates, addresses several of the common questions he receives from our clients about their Social Security benefits. Social Security is a complex system, and many retirees face questions about working in retirement, the best age at which to withdraw benefits, coordinating deductions with a spouse, and the long-term viability of the Social Security program.

Each video in this series will explore one facet of the program, offer typical scenarios a retiree might face and provide potential strategies for each of these situations.

PART 1: At What Age to Begin Taking Benefits?
In this first segment we will look at a variety of claiming strategies, including early and deferred distributions. Is it better to claim Social Security when you’re first eligible, or continue to let your benefits grow? Learn about the factors that weigh into this decision.

PART 2: Coordinating Spousal Benefits
In this segment we will look at someone who is getting ready to retire, but who has a spouse that is a few years younger, and how to address this in a claiming strategy.

PART 3: Working in Retirement
In this third segment we will look at someone who wants to retire and begin claiming Social Security benefits, but who also wants to work part-time in retirement.

PART 4: Will Social Security Be There for Me?
In this final segment we will discuss the state of the Social Security program, and the likelihood that benefits will be there for you in your retirement.

While this series covers the most frequent questions we receive about Social Security, it is by no means comprehensive. Of course, everyone’s situation is unique, and your personal strategy should meet your specific needs in retirement. If you have any additional questions about Social Security benefits, not addressed in this video series, please send me an e-mail at info@sacks-associates.com with your specific questions.
